It seems we could be looking at a new alliance in All Elite Wrestling. Brian Cage did not take kindly to Darby Allin attacking him after his match with Jon Moxley last week and returned the favour tonight on AEW Dark.
Allin took on Robert Anthony on the show and pulled off the win in convincing fashion. Before he could celebrate he was being beaten by Cage and surprisingly, Ricky Starks. Cage nailed Allin with a series of powerbombs before handing him off to Starks to pick up the scraps. After doing the damage, Cage and Starks fist-bumped, seemingly showing the start of a new partnership.
Cage was beaten by Jon Moxley last week for the AEW World Championship. His manager Taz through in the towel to force the submission but Cage was not satisfied. All signs are pointing to a big Cage vs. Allin match, possibly at All In on September 5.
This should mean big things for Ricky Starks as well. Since having a very competitive debut match against Cody on Dynamite, Starks has been used on AEW Dark. Now, it seems there is a direction for him going forward.
