A new report has revealed that ROH Tag Team Champions Mark & Jay, the Briscoe Brothers, are not expected in AEW anytime soon.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), WarnerMedia sources have noted that a person of influence in the company did not want the brothers in AEW, following Jay Briscoe’s homophobic tweets from 2013.
It is reportedly unclear whether The Briscoes will be a part of ROH, following Tony Khan’s acquisition of the brand. The duo were originally set to defend their title at April’s Supercard of Honor event, however it was noted that plans could change now Khan owns ROH.
The report also noted that as of a month ago, there were no plans in place for FTR vs The Briscoes, but it was pointed out that this was the case before Tony Khan’s purchase of ROH.
During the post-Revolution media scrum, Khan revealed that he plans to be the booker for ROH.
We will continue to provide updates on the ROH acquisition as they become available.
