According to a report from the Daily Star, Roman Reigns could return to WWE at WrestleMania 35.
The report notes that details on Reigns’ recovery progress continue to be scarce, but that “friends close to Reigns have revealed he is on the mend, and responding well to treatment”.
It is added that Vince McMahon is furious with the emergence of AEW, and made the “demand” for Reigns to come back in order to create a big moment and draw eyes, and that there have been a few clues that this is the case.
They list those clues as the following:
- “The use of the Shield’s triple-powerbomb finisher at the Elimination Chamber.”
- “Reports claim boss Vince McMahon told commentators to specifically mention the move as being used by the Shield.”
- “The other sign was his former stable mate Dean Ambrose being used in a good-guy role.”
There are of course multiple possible, and more likely, explanations for those ‘clues’, but they are there to be interpreted.
Daily Star also claims that the most likely match if Reigns were to return would be him, Ambrose & Strowman vs. Lashley, McIntyre & Corbin in a six-man tag team match.
Roman Reigns relinquished his WWE Universal Championship on the October 22, 2018 episode of Raw after announcing he had been diagnosed with leukemia.
There has of course been no official confirmation regarding a Roman Reigns return and we heavily advise you to take this with a colossal pinch of salt.
