Britt Baker appeared to suffer a pretty nasty injury on AEW Dynamite last night. She and Nyla Rose faced Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander in a tag team match when things went wrong.
During the match, Statlander and Shida slammed Rose onto Baker. Rather than landing on Baker’s midsection, Rose landed awkwardly on Baker’s right knee. Soon after, Baker rolled to the apron and was treated by a doctor.
Bryan Alvarez reported on Wrestling Observer Live that the belief is Baker suffered a torn ACL. However, they are still waiting to get the results of the MRI.
Bodyslam.net also ran an exclusive where they revealed the status of Baker’s knee and her status for Double or Nothing. Here is the quote:
“I reached out to my sources within AEW today and inquired about Britt Baker’s health status following her injury on last night’s episode of Dynamite, and was told that she had her knee heavily wrapped up today and that it hurts pretty bad. I also asked about her status for Double Or Nothing and if she would be able to wrestle, and was told ‘personally I doubt she will be good.. but who knows.'”
No matter how you slice it, it doesn’t look good. Rey Fenix and Matt Jackson also suffered injuries on last night’s show. Fenix landed very hard on the ground on a dive and appeared to hurt himself, however, he was able to walk to the back under his own power. Jackson, on the other hand, injured a rib in the main event segment of the show.
We here at WrestleTalk send our best wishes to Britt Baker and hope she recovers quickly.
