Britt Baker Provides Insight On Adam Cole’s Road Back To AEW Following His Brain Injury AEW

Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. has provided insight on Adam Cole’s road back to AEW following his brain injury.

At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, Adam Cole suffered a concussion during the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship four-way match.

This led to Cole being out of action for nearly seven months before making his return to the company on the January 11 edition of AEW Dynamite.

Speaking with the New York Post, Cole’s girlfriend Britt Baker opened up about the “terrifying” road back to All Elite Wrestling for her significant other. She said:

“All I could do was be there for him. I’m a fixer. I like to try to fix things, solve the problems.”

“This was just something where we had to wait and as impatient as I felt the whole time I had to just put on a front like everything was gonna be OK no matter what happened and that was really, really hard. That was one of the hardest things I even seen him go through.”

When Cole returned, he talked about going through constant tests, having headaches, dizzy spells, often vomiting after spending more than 15 minutes in a car among other symptoms during his time away.

Further elaborating on the hardships for Adam Cole, Britt said:

“Dealing with very bad head injuries there are so many factors. There’s anxiety and panic attacks and nausea and miserable headaches.”

“When you have that on top of, ‘Am I going to be able to do the only thing I truly love doing for the rest of my life,’ I mean that was really hard.”

Discussing how Cole was mostly homebound due to being unable to fly or travel, Baker stated:

“As sad as it sounds, he didn’t want to leave home. He just wanted to stay home where he knew he was safe and it was like his safe space. I didn’t even try to pressure him to test the limits.”

Both Adam Cole and Britt Baker will be featured on the upcoming “AEW All Access” reality show set to premiere in March. One of the notable things documented was Cole’s journey back to the ring.

As previously noted, Cole will also make his in-ring return on the episode of AEW Dynamite leading into the premiere of the new show.
