Brock Lesnar Possibly Facing Former Rival At WWE WrestleMania 37

It is believed that there ave been internal talks within WWE about Brock Lesnar working a match with former rival Drew McIntyre at the WrestleMania 37 event that is currently scheduled to take place next March.

According to Dave Meltzer in a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has been discussing the idea of having McIntyre face Lesnar at WrestleMania 37, in what would be a rematch from last year’s show:

“Lesnar’s name had been talked about in WWE in reference to a Drew McIntyre rematch for this coming WrestleMania”.

However, Meltzer notes that this match will likely only take place if Drew McIntyre is still WWE Champion, and this might not be the case as the idea of Randy Orton beating Drew for the title soon has been discussed backstage:

“That was if McIntyre was to retain the title, which has also been considered to go to Randy Orton, who in theory would be earmarked for Edge and not Lesnar. But nothing in that direction is close to being decided.”

It will be interesting to see if WWE decides to have rematches of both of their top Raw bouts from WrestleMania 36 at next year’s show, with both Drew McIntyre vs. Brock Lesnar and Edge vs. Randy Orton being discussed.

At this time, Brock Lesnar isn’t even under contract with WWE, but the belief is when WWE wants to have Brock back on TV, they will offer him a deal that he cannot refuse. This will likely be for a return at WrestleMania 37 or when fans return to shows.
