Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman Rematch Date Set?

Brock Lesnar squashed Braun Strowman in their Universal Title match at Crown Jewel, largely thanks to Baron Corbin hitting Strowman with the title before the match started.

Since then, Strowman has been on a bit of a warpath, hunting Corbin and demanding a rematch with Brock.

On this week’s Raw, Stephanie McMahon promised Braun a rematch with Brock at some point, if he agreed to fight for team Raw on Sunday at Survivor Series.

So that begs the question: when will the rematch be?

Well, Survivor Series is out of the question, with both men booked in their own matches (expect Braun to interfere in Brock’s match). The next PPV show after Sunday is TLC in December, and there’s about as much chance of Brock showing up at TLC as me getting a girlfriend.

So, that would leave the Royal Rumble in January, a theory backed up by Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Meltzer notes that the Rumble is one of Lesnar’s contracted dates, and is therefore the most likely venue for the rematch.

Whether or not WWE would let Brock lose at a show that isn’t SummerSlam or WrestleMania is another question. Braun losing again would likely cement him as an unworthy challenger until someone else comes along to challenge Brock Lesnar at a later date (Drew McIntyre).
