Brock Lesnar Wasn’t Supposed To Quit WWE Smackdown On Friday

Just before a whole host of NXT stars invaded Smackdown last week, Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar kicked off the show by announcing that Brock Lesnar had quit Smackdown.

Brock Lesnar will reportedly be moving to Raw on a full-time basis very soon, taking the WWE Championship with him. The solves the issue of WWE having their two top men’s titles on Smackdown.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed that during the broadcast, WWE forgot to announce the special guest for the premiere episode of WWE Backstage that is supposed to air on FS1 tomorrow. They had been promoting the announcement all week.

However, it has been reported that WWE didn’t actually forget to do the announcement, and the reason they didn’t reveal the special guest is to do with Brock Lesnar quitting Smackdown.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Radio, Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman were supposed to be the special guests on the first WWE Backstage.

The pair were likely going to make the announcement of Brock quitting Smackdown on the FS1 show on Tuesday night.

The report states that Lesnar and Heyman weren’t even supposed to be on Smackdown last week, but plans changed once WWE realised that the majority of the roster would still be in Saudi Arabia and unable to make the show.

It is not known whether WWE has found a replacement for Heyman and Lesnar for WWE Backstage tomorrow night, so stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com for the latest on the matter.
