Well, well, well.
Defying all pre-show expectations, Brock Lesnar has walked away from his match with Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel as the new Universal Champion.
Baron Corbin attacked Strowman with the title belt prior to the match, leading to two quick F5s from Brock that Braun kicked out of.

Brock continued the assault, ripping through Strowman – other than a brief fight back – before a fifth F5 put the giant away.
Lesnar’s previous reign with the title – which lasted for 16 months – only ended in August at SummerSlam.
Strowman has now choked on several occasions when he has had shots at the Universal title. Most notably he lost to Lesnar at No Mercy last year, failed to complete his promised Money In The Bank cash in at SummerSlam and went to a bizarre draw with Roman Reigns at Hell In A Cell.
The result means that WWE and Lesnar must have come to terms on a new agreement. Whether the deal allows Brock to fight for UFC at the same time is unclear at this stage but it would certainly appear to be the case.
Lesnar’s next WWE match has already been announced, with The Beast Incarnate set to meet AJ Styles at Survivor Series in a champion versus champion showdown. It is the same match that WWE presented at Survivor Series last year.
