The black and gold era has officially come to an end on tonight’s (January 4) New Year’s Evil episode of NXT 2.0.
The main event saw Tommaso Ciampa defend his NXT Championship against Bron Breakker in a rematch from Halloween Havoc.
Breakker went on to defeat Ciampa with the Steiner Recliner, capturing his first championship in his young WWE career.
Ciampa’s second NXT Championship reign began on the premiere episode of the NXT 2.0 reboot, and lasted a total 113 days.
