Bron Breakker has promised a title shot to a currently injured star, after winning the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam.
Breakker won his first title on the WWE main roster at the August 3 premium live event, defeating Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Title in under six minutes.
Amid speculation about Breakker’s first feud as champion, the new Intercontinental Champion has vowed to face Tyler Bate in a title match when Bate is ready.
Speaking at a Fanatics Live event, Breakker said:
“I feel like Tyler Bate and I (had a good match). That was super early on too. I was still super brand new. He’s a little banged up right now, so I wish he comes back soon.
“And you know what, whenever you get back my man, you want to challenge me for the Intercontinental Championship, then I’ll lay it down for you. Because we had a good one.”
Breakker notably defeated Bate in a NXT and NXT UK title unification match at the September 2022 Worlds Collide event.
The duo also teamed together several times in late 2022 and early 2023. They last shared the ring during the 2023 Iron Survivor Challenge five-way match in December.
Bate is currently out of action after suffering a torn pectoral muscle injury in early July.
