Top WWE Name Discusses Almost Getting Arrested For DX Invasion Of WCW WWE

A top WWE name has discussed almost getting arrested for the DX invasion of WCW.

In 1998, one of the most memorable moments of the WWE Attitude Era took place when D-Generation X invaded a WCW Nitro in Norfolk, Virginia and WCW’s headquarters in Georgia.

On a recent episode of “Something to Wrestle”, Bruce Prichard discussed filming the segment with DX invading WCW offices and detailed how it nearly resulted in the arrests of everyone involved. He said:

“They called 911 and said that their building was being assaulted by a group of individuals with weapons.”

According to Prichard, he had already personally spoken to the local police department to inform them of what the plan was and even requested there be a police presence at the recording.

However, once the crew wrapped up filming and everyone was preparing to leave, a heavy police presence responded to the 911 call, and having another officer with them didn’t help.

Prichard continued on to note that this nearly landed everyone involved in jail, saying:

“They get out and they’re putting us up against the van and all this other stuff,”

Despite the Smyrna police officer accompanying the WWE shoot let the police know it was just a skit for television, WCW executive Mike Weber reportedly insisted that the group were trespassing.

After things calmed down, the Smyrna head of police reportedly still wanted to arrest the WWE group, but it didn’t occur at that point.

The group was warned to proceed to the airport and get on the next flight, but the decision was made to disobey that order and stopped off at CNN headquarter to film more footage for WWE Raw.

The card for WWE Night of Champions 2023 on Saturday, May 27 is as follows:
