It’s widely believed Bruce Prichard is the most powerful person in WWE, who is not part of the McMahon family, and he recently appeared on Sam Roberts’ Not Sam wrestling podcast on the WWE Network.
During the show, Bruce Prichard explained fans initially didn’t like Monday Night Raw because it wasn’t what they were used to. He explained WWE fans and wrestling fans as a whole don’t like new things:
“It was different, it was new for the time. People don’t like change. People don’t like when you take away what they’re used to and you give them someone else. It’s like, ‘I’ve never seen this person before, who the Hell’s this guys?!’ They’ll focus on what they don’t understand so it’s ‘I don’t understand it, I don’t like it;’ because it’s not comfortable.”
Bruce Prichard replaced Eric Bischoff as the Executive Director of SmackDown in late-2019 and took over from Paul Heyman as the lead on Monday Night Raw in the summer of last year. He has been heading up both shows ever since.
