Here’s an update on Bruce Prichard’s WWE status, following the announcement that Triple H will be heading up creative.
Despite reports indicating that Prichard would be taking over the Head of Creative role following Vince McMahon’s retirement, WWE’s latest statement revealed that Triple H will be assuming creative responsibilities in addition to his previous roles.
Fightful Select (subscription required) notes that WWE has confirmed to them that Prichard is still with WWE, and will be working as part of the creative team.
The report noted that on Friday (June 22), the day of McMahon’s retirement announcement, Prichard and Ed Koskey were largely in control of the direction of WWE SmackDown, and producers were informed that Triple H would at least be the ‘finish guy’.
It was also stated that higher-ups were told that Vince McMahon would still be available ‘to some degree’ during his transition away from WWE.
The reaction of the USA Network to Triple H officially taking over creative has also been revealed.
