Here’s why AEW reportedly asked Bryan Danielson not to work a certain indie wrestling event.
Before his WWE departure, Danielson expressed interest in wrestling for a number of promotions. In a recent interview, the former WWE Champion confirmed that AEW is his priority, but his current contract allows him to wrestle elsewhere.
As per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there has been one case that he knows of where Tony Khan has asked Bryan not to work for an indie promotion that has been interested in booking him until AEW had ran a show in the territory.
It was noted that the promotion was in a market where AEW was going, but hasn’t been. Khan reportedly wanted Danielson’s first date in the market, following him leaving WWE, to be with AEW.
Danielson recently opened up about his plans for when his current AEW deal ends.
