Shane McMahon recently met with AEW CEO Tony Khan with the photo going viral on social media and Bryan Danielson has now commented.
The meeting between Khan and McMahon took place on Monday, July 29, 2024, at a private Arlington airport, as reported by WrestleTalk and Fightful.
It was later reported by Fightful Select that their sources within WWE expected McMahon to make an appearance for AEW.
With the possibility of a McMahon in AEW, Bryan Danielson has commented during an interview with Gorilla Position, saying:
“I’m open to working with anybody. I don’t have beef with anybody. 100%.”
With Khan sharing a close relationship with Danielson, the AEW star was asked if he knew any details of the meeting, responding:
“One, if I knew, I would not tell you. Two, I don’t know [laughs].
“It was interesting because Tony mentioned to me after the photo came out, ‘I didn’t want to tell you this before, but I met with Shane McMahon.’
“I didn’t say this, but I was like, ‘Yeah, I know. The picture is everywhere.’
“To be fair, I’m not aware of a lot of things because I don’t go on Twitter or social media.”
McMahon and Danielson have some history together, having both been authority figures on WWE SmackDown from 2016 to 2018.
Following the revelation that he had met Tony Khan, Shane McMahon issued a statement about the private meeting.
It was also reported that McMahon had attempted a return to WWE some time before he met with the AEW CEO.
