An update has been provided on former WWE Champion Bryan Danielson’s future in AEW after his full-time run is over.
At AEW All Out 2023, Bryan Danielson made his return from injury to defeat Ricky Starks in a Strap Match.
Following the show, Danielson announced that he would be finishing up his full-time wrestling career in a year. This has led many fans to question what the future holds for “The American Dragon.”
Speaking with The Athletic, AEW President Tony Khan provided an update on Bryan’s future following the end of his full-time in-ring run. He said:
“Bryan and I made an agreement three years to the week before AEW All In 2024,”
“The agreement was that Bryan would wrestle (full-time) for three years.”
“Even three years in advance of the expiration of the agreement, I was already clawing for him to stay. He will stay with us in spirit and sometimes, occasionally, make sporadic appearances with us.”
“But the end of the full-time run with us is going to be in 2024,”
Bryan Danielson is set to face Eddie Kingston in the Blue League of the AEW Continental Classic tournament on the December 2 edition of AEW Collision.
Also announced for the show, Claudio Castagnoli vs. Brody King and Andrade El Idolo vs. Daniel Garcia is the other Blue League matches in the AEW Continental Classic.
WrestleTalk will provide any news and notes from tomorrow night’s AEW Collision when they become available.
