Top AEW Star Says Having A Great Program With The Miz Is A Great Launching Pad WWE

A top AEW star says having a great program with The Miz is a great launching pad.

When Bryan Danielson was introduced to WWE fans, it was in the original season of NXT with The Miz acting as his pro.

After gaining notoriety through his work in Ring of Honor and across several independent promotions, Danielson became tied to The Miz throughout his WWE career. The two shared a famous Talking Smack segment in 2016 that led to the reigniting of their feud upon Bryan getting cleared to return in 2018.

Since their initial connection, various young, debuting stars have feuded with The Miz or been tied to the two-time WWE Champion, leading to fans believing this to be a detriment instead of a benefit.

Speaking with Cameron Hawkins on the South Kongress Podcast, Danielson was asked if feuding with The Miz could be viewed as a demotion. He answered:

“As much as I dislike him as a human being, Miz really helped me and gave me a good story point and launching pad in WWE.”

“Everything is how you take it, how it plays out. I don’t think (it’s a demotion), no. If it gives you an opportunity to show people what you can do, it’s a great starting point because at the very least, the fans dislike The Miz.”

“If you can go in, and you’re good enough, if you go in there and have a great program with him, it’s a great launching pad,”

Bryan Danielson last wrestled against MJF in a 60-minute Iron Man match for the AEW World Championship at the Revolution pay-per-view earlier this month. On the following Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, Danielson stated he “was going home” following his loss.

Meanwhile, The Miz is set to host WrestleMania 39 this coming weekend in Los Angeles.
