Bryan Danielson has his next AEW match confirmed after tonight’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view where he picked up a victory.
At Forbidden Door, Bryan Danielson faced off against New Japan Pro Wrestling star Shingo Takagi in a match that had implications beyond the night.
The match was a part of the Owen Hart Foundation tournament with the eventual winner going on to face PAC on this week’s July 3 AEW Dynamite in the semi-final round.
After a match full of stiff striking, Danielson picked up the victory via submission after Takagi appeared to verbally tap out as referee Aubrey Edwards called the match complete.
Elsewhere on the night, MJF defeated Hechicero, and still to come, a big ladder match to determine who will become the latest TNT Champion as the title is currently vacant.
The ladder match will see Dante Martin, Mark Briscoe, Jack Perry, Konosuke Takeshita, Lio Rush and El Phantasmo all looking to climb the ladder and capture the TNT Championship hanging above the ring.
