Buddy Matthews Debuts On AEW Dynamite AEW

Buddy Matthews is back!

And another debut of sorts on tonight’s (February 23) episode of AEW Dynamite as fans saw the debut of the dark side of Penta El Zero M as he will now be known as Penta Oscuro.

Alongside the darker version of Alex Abrahantes, Penta Oscuro was described by commentary as having been triggered into existence by Malakai Black’s black mist as Penta teamed with Pac to take on Black and Brody King.

Penta Oscuro literally represents a dark turn (oscuro meaning dark in Spanish) and marks the return to his former Lucha Underground gimmick.

Penta’s typical tag team partner, Rey Fenix continues to be out of action due to injury with a still unknown return date but with some believing, he could return after a month.

When Malakai Black was set to assault Penta after the match, the lights cut out, and when they return Buddy Matthews had appeared in the ring and proceeded to attack Penta and Pac, seemingly aligning with House of Black.

With Brody King keeping security away temporarily, Black and Matthews have a staredown in the ring before Black instructs Matthews to drive Penta’s head into a steel chair in the ring, leaving the trio standing tall before the lights cut again and they’re gone.
