Byron Saxton has compared Corey Graves with WWE Hall of Famers Bobby Heenan and Jesse Ventura in terms of commentary.
Corey Graves has been announcing for WWE’s main shows since 2016. Bryon Saxton believes that Graves is already “right up there” with some of the best commentators in wrestling history.
Speaking on D-Von Dudley’s Table Talk show, Saxton named some of the greatest talents to sit behind a WWE desk. Praising Graves, Saxton said:
“I think when you look at all the — and there’s been so many greats but when you look at Jesse (Ventura) and Bobby (Heenan) and all these great color guys, The King (Jerry Lawler), who have been in this company, you know, Corey (Graves) is right up there. He is so talented, he is so witty and it’s a blessing for this company to have someone as talented as he is and I’m very fortunate I’ve been able to work with him as long as I have.”
In April, Graves returned to the Raw commentary booth, replacing Samoa Joe. The Samoan Submission Machine has returned to NXT to act as General Manager William Regal’s enforcer.
Former NXT Champion Adam Cole has admitted that he’s “hoping and praying” for the opportunity to step into the ring with Samoa Joe.
