A match featuring former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez has been announced for an upcoming independent show.
Velasquez will team with Blue Demon Jr to face Mariachi Loco and fellow former MMA star Dan Severn for Lucha Loco Libre on November 13.
It was recently announced that Velasquez will return to action for AAA in December. Before this announcement, Velasquez had discussed plans for an AAA appearance on In This Corner with Cyrus Fees, noting that he loves working with the promotion.
Velasquez signed with WWE in October 2019, before challenging Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at the October 31, 2019 Crown Jewel event. The former MMA star was quietly released by WWE in April 2020, and hasn’t wrestled since a November 2019 WWE house show.
