Cain Velasquez Wrestles First WWE Match Since Crown Jewel

Cain Velasquez Wrestles First WWE Match Since Crown Jewel

Cain Velasquez wrestled only his second ever match in WWE last night at a house show in Mexico City.

Velasquez teamed with Humberto Carrillo to defeat Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson of the OC.

The road to this match actually being this match was a bit weird.

First Velasquez was set to team with Rey Mysterio, but was swapped out for Carrillo due to needing knee surgery after his Crown Jewel match with Brock Lesnar.

When it was decided that Velasquez was fine for the match, instead of doing the original team of him and Mysterio, it was Rey that they swapped, leaving Carrillo and Velasquez.

Mysterio actually faced “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt in a Universal Championship steel cage match in the show’s main event.
