Last month at the Royal Rumble event, former United States Champion Carlito returned to the company for the first time since 2010 as part of the men’s Rumble match. He also wrestled on the following night’s episode of Raw.
It was reported soon after that Carlito had been offered a three-week trial as a backstage producer with the company following a recommendation from MVP, with the expectation being that Carlito would be permanently rejoining the company.
While speaking with Corey Graves on the After the Bell podcast, Carlito revealed that he is unsure about what the future holds for him in the company, but explained that he definitely does want to return to WWE and has done for some time:
“As of now, I don’t know. We’ll see what the future holds. I don’t know. If the conditions are right, I’d love to be back. My whole goal was to go away, take a breather and come back.
“I feel like I already did what I wanted to do. End things on a better note. If I came back, my goal was to be a better Carlito, be a better performer in my own way, and be a better person too.”
As always, for updates and any additional information on Carlito’s status with WWE following his trial period, make sure you stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.
