Tonight’s premium live event WWE Fastlane 2023 marked the return of Carlito, as he joined a match featuring the LWO.
After Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde were unable to compete after an attack by Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits on SmackSown, the LWO was down a partner for their three-on-three match.
With Rey Mysterio having teased that he made a phone call to an old friend, the call wasn’t answered but he remained hopeful.
Back in May at WWE Backlash, the LWO had a massive presence which included a match between Damian Priest and honorary LWO member Bad Bunny.
During that match, the other members of the LWO, and a couple of other honorary members, got involved to help Bad Bunny fend off the Judgment Day.
One of those honorary members was the return of Carlito, the first time he’d appeared for WWE since returning at the 2021 Royal Rumble.
After much of tonight’s match featuring the LWO in 2-on-3 action against Lashley and the Profits, Carlito made an entrance and got tagged in by Mysterio.
With a fresh man in the match, Carlito was able to even the odds and a victory came shortly thereafter for the LWO.
The team of Santos Escobar, Rey Mysterio and Carlito beat Bobby Lashley and the Street Profits at WWE Fastlane 2023.
Carlito has been signed with WWE for several months and just hadn’t returned on-screen until now.
He was actually originally penciled in to return when SmackDown was at Madison Square Garden recently, but the decision was made to pull him from that because there was already so much happening on that show.
