Carmelo Hayes Breaks Silence After Trick Williams Confrontation On NXT WWE

Carmelo Hayes has issued his first statement following the much-talked about ending to this week’s NXT that saw the former NXT Champion confronted by Trick Williams.

At the conclusion of the main event NXT Championship match between Carmelo Hayes and Ilja Dragunov, Williams’ music hit and the former North American Champion walked down to the ring, causing enough of a distraction to Hayes to allow Dragunov to retain his title.

Williams then entered the ring, picked Hayes off the ground and stared a hole through him, suggesting that Hayes may have been responsible for putting Williams on the shelf a couple of weeks ago.

However, in Hayes’ first statement on Twitter since NXT, he would not admit to any guilt, instead suggesting that there is more to the story:

If I’m guilty for anything it’s showing TF out.

Not champ tonight unfortunately, but bigger issues need to be handled.. #NXTHalloweenHavoc

Immediately after Williams was attacked backstage on the October 18 edition of NXT, Hayes was many fans’ prediction as to who perpetrated the ambush that took him out of an NXT Championship #1 contender match that Hayes himself went on to win.

While Hayes has vehemently denied the accusations, it seems as if Williams may have a good idea of the guilty party based on the ending to NXT last night.
