Carmelo Hayes Shares Honest Thoughts On First Year On WWE Main Roster WWE

Carmelo Hayes has shared his honest thoughts on his first year on the WWE main roster, opening up on the anniversary of his official debut.

Hayes’ start on SmackDown was very promising, with the former NXT Champion revealed to be the blue brand’s first male draft pick in WWE Draft on the April 26, 2024 SmackDown episode.

With Hayes facing then-WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in the main event of this show, many fans predicted that he’d have championship gold, or at least a consistent spot in the main event scene before long.

While this largely hasn’t been the case, Carmelo Hayes has noted that he still considers his first year on the WWE main roster a success.

Noting that he has “killed s**t” this year, and hasn’t even started cooking yet, Hayes took to Twitter to note:

Regardless of what was expected or not this year, I never measured my success on Championships or winning matches.

When I got the ball it was a first down or touchdown. Stole the show and had banger matches with anyone and everyone.

Traveled the world and honed my craft against the best. Wrestled the WWE Champion 10+ times and got to work and learn from legends and future hall of famers.

Im winning in every way possible. I killed s**t this year and was drafted first for a reason. You can’t deny what won’t be denied. Haven’t even started cooking yet. #Happy1Year #Marathon 🏁🎯

Carmelo Hayes’ biggest highlight on the main roster took place on the April 18 SmackDown episode, when he won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
