A championship battle royal has now been added to the card for the Sunday, May 28 AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tonight’s May 17 Dynamite already saw the announcement of Wardlow defending the TNT Championship against Christian Cage in a ladder match at Double Or Nothing.
Later in the show, a battle royal for another championship, that being Orange Cassidy’s International Title, was announced.
Cassidy had essentially said he was willing to defend the title against anyone, so anyone could go and ask Tony Khan for a match.
The story was that exactly 20 people went and asked Khan for a title match, so Cassidy agreed to face all 20 of them.
The match is called the 21-man Blackjack Battle Royal, because every AEW battle royal has to have a name.
As of this writing, none of the other participants other than Cassidy have been announced.
The card for tonight’s May 17 episode of Dynamite is as follows:
Chris Jericho vs. Roderick Strong – Falls Count Anywhere
Ricky Starks vs. Jay White
Jack Perry vs. Rush
Orange Cassidy & Darby Allin vs. Lee Moriarty & Big Bill
Sammy Guevara in action
Britt Baker & Hikaru Shida vs. Toni Storm & Ruby Soho
We’ll hear from Don Callis
