With WrestleMania 39 just under a week away, the card for the show is effectively all finalised, except for one glaring anomaly.
With Bobby Lashley and Bray Wyatt’s planned bout seemingly no longer taking place on the show, there are now 13 matches set for the two night event, with one night set to feature one less match.
There has been a lot of speculation about a potential Bobby Lashley replacement match being added to the show, speculated to be against LA Knight, but it seems a championship match could be added to fill that gap.
Current Women’s Tag Team Champion Becky Lynch spoke on the Tommy Tiernan Show in Ireland to promote WrestleMania, where she revealed that her scheduled six-woman tag team match alongside Lita and Trish Stratus against Bayley, Dakota Kai and IYO SKY is set to take place on the first night of the show.
However, Becky then went on to say that she plans on wrestling on both nights of the event, defending her Women’s Tag Team Championship on the second night.
She said:
“I’m going in on the first night in a Six-Woman match, and then because I’m tag team Champion, I’m hoping that I will be defending that title on the second night. So, ‘Becky Two-Fights,’ they’ll call me. I don’t know. They might. We’ll try to get that on a t-shirt or something.”
A Women’s Tag Team ‘Showcase’ match is also scheduled for the show, with the match featuring Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, who were reportedly planned to win the titles at WrestleMania a few months back.
There were reports that Ronda and Shayna were still planned to win the titles at the show even after the Six-Woman Tag Team Match was announced for the show.
The Showcase match will also feature Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez, Shotzi and Natalya and a fourth team to be determined.
