Last night’s Raw Women’s Championship match did not end without controversy. As Asuka and Nia Jax battled on the outside, they were both counted-out, resulting in a draw. Now we know we won’t have to wait long to see a rematch as WWE announced they will clash again on Raw.
WWE made the announcement earlier today on WWE.com. This is the statement they made regarding the match’s announcement:
“Asuka and Nia Jax have plenty of unfinished business after their Raw Women’s Championship Match ended in a double count-out at WWE Backlash. The Empress of Tomorrow retained her title but was clearly frustrated by the conclusion and landed one last attack on her rival before exiting up the ramp.
The bad blood has boiled for weeks, as the unpredictable Asuka has been repeatedly targeted by the towering Jax ever since Becky Lynch crowned her champion.
Will Asuka finally silence her most outspoken doubter, or will the most imposing female Superstar in WWE history back up the smack talk?”
Asuka has been champion since Becky Lynch relinquished the title the night after Money in the Bank. With Extreme Rules being the next pay per view, will she still be champion by then?
