Championship Match To Open NXT Tonight

Well NXT is really pulling out all the stops to make sure tonight’s show is the biggest one possible. It’s almost like there is extra incentive to put on a good show…hmm.

There are three championship matches booked for the show, and one of them is set to open.

Speaking on WWE’s new digital show “The Bump”, Cathy Kelley announced that Matt Riddle and Adam Cole will be kicking off the show, battling for Cole’s NXT Championship.

It’s hard to argue that Cody vs. Sammy Guevara, which is set to be the first match on AEW: Dynamite, will be better, but if you’re like me, you’ll be watching the shows side by side anyway.

Also on the NXT card is Shayna Baszler vs. Candice LeRae for the NXT Women’s Championship, and The Street Profits return to Full Sail to try and win back their NXT Tag Team Championships from The Undisputed Era.

The AEW: Dynamite show will be main-evented by Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks vs. Chris Jericho & Santana & Ortiz, and will also feature a match to crown the inaugural AEW Women’s Champion between Nyla Rose and Riho.

Elsewhere, Hangman Page takes on PAC in what is sure to be a brilliant match, MJF faces Brandon Cutler, and as mentioned above, Cody opens the show against Sammy Guevara.
