Change Made To AEW Star’s Match At Wrestle Dynasty AEW/NJPW

A big change has been made to an AEW star’s match at tomorrow’s AEW x NJPW Wrestle Dynasty pay-per-view following Wrestle Kingdom 19.

New Japan Pro Wrestling’s annual Wrestle Kingdom event took place today at the Tokyo Dome, and a number of matches had implications for tomorrow’s AEW x NJPW Wrestle Dynasty event.

Two matches set for the show are David Finlay taking on Brody King, as well as Yota Tsuji taking on Jack Perry, and a title change that took place at Wrestle Kingdom has now caused changes to the matches.

At Wrestle Kingdom, Finlay defended his IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship against Tsuji, with Tsuji picking up the win to capture the title.

As such, the match between Brody King and David Finlay, which was originally set to be for the Global Championship, will no longer be for the title.

The biggest beneficiary of this change is Jack Perry, who will now compete in a Global Championship match against Tsuji on the show.

In the main event of the show, Zack Sabre Jr defeated Shota Umino to retain the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, confirming that his match with Ricochet at Wrestle Dynasty will be contested for the title.
