A big change has been confirmed for the World Heavyweight Championship match set for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 14, 2024.
In the opening segment of tonight’s WWE Raw, World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER had a set of scathing lines for his upcoming challenger at SNME, Finn Balor.
Deriding Balor for “hanging around with a bunch of weirdos in a clubhouse,” GUNTHER reminded Balor and fans that Finn was once great – eight years ago, for one night, referencing Balor’s inaugural WWE Universal Championship win in 2016.
Due to an injury sustained in the match, Balor would vacate the title, hence leading to his reign only lasting 24 hours.
However, the segment wouldn’t end there as Damian Priest would join the fray as everyone began brawling, with Balor and his fellow Judgment Day members Dominik Mysterio, Carlito and JD McDonagh ultimately standing tall over Priest.
In a backstage segment shortly after, WWE Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced that the Saturday Night’s Main Event title match will now be a three-way, with GUNTHER defending against Balor and the newly added Damian Priest.
