A change has been made to an upcoming championship match in WWE following an angle on television this week.
NXT Halloween Havoc is set to take place this weekend, a number of championship matches have been announced for the show, including an NXT North American Championship rematch between Tony D’Angelo and Oba Femi.
D’Angelo scored the upset over Oba Femi on the October 8 episode of NXT in St. Louis, ending Femi’s record reign as the NXT North American Champion.
The following week, it was revealed that D’Angelo and Femi are set to have a rematch for the title at Halloween Havoc, with the wheel revealing the match will be Tables, Ladders and Scares.
On last night’s episode of NXT, Femi took out Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo and Luca Crusifino of the D’Angelo Family, and this has resulted in a change to the upcoming match at Halloween Havoc.
Taking to Twitter, NXT General Manager Ava revealed that D’Angelo requested for the match to now be decided by pinfall, rather than retrieving the title which is traditional in TLC matches.
She wrote:
@TonyDangeloWWE requested the North American Championship Table, Ladders and Scares Match this Sunday at Halloween Havoc be decided by pinfall – with tables, ladders and chairs legal to use as weapons.
After the events of tonight & Oba’s actions …request granted!
Adriana Rizzo was also found attacked backstage on last night’s show, which was seemingly the work of Nikkita Lyons, who had a brief segment with Oba Femi later in the night.
