One of British wrestling’s most exciting upcoming stars has been forced to call it a day due to injuries.
Charlie Morgan, who has worked for NXT UK, PROGRESS, SHIMMER and was a regular headliner from all-female group EVE, announced her retirement at the group’s Wrestle Queendom 2 event last night.
The 27 year old had headlined the same event at York Hall the previous year, defeating Sammii Jayne in an emotional main event to capture the promotion’s top title.

One year on, the former EVE Champion had York Hall crying again, only this time it was for a very different reason.
Unable to hold back tears, Morgan announced that an ankle injury she suffered in SHIMMER against Kimber Lee back in late March was a lot more serious than she first thought.
Although reports had indicated her recovery was going well, the injury was so serious that it required surgery and Morgan has been forced to step away from the ring as a result.
WrestleTalk would like to wish Charlie Morgan all the best in her future, whatever she decides to do next.
