Charlotte Flair Addresses WWE Character Change During Alexa Bliss Tag Team Run WWE

Charlotte Flair has addressed the change in her WWE character that fans have seen since being paired with Alexa Bliss.

At the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble, Charlotte Flair returned to in-ring action after over a year on the shelf with a serious knee injury and immediately won the Women’s Rumble match.

While she returned as a babyface, fans quickly rejected Flair as she headed into her WWE Women’s Championship match with Tiffany Stratton at WrestleMania 41, with the 14-time world champion resuming her established heel character that she’s portrayed for much of her career.

A partnership with Alexa Bliss that reportedly was originally planned to be short-lived has changed the reception to Flair greatly however, with “The Queen” now established as a babyface star once again alongside the ever-popular Bliss.

Speaking on Post Run High, Flair addressed the change, crediting her tag team partner with humanising her character in a way she “never thought possible”.

Flair said:

“The fans are just now getting to enjoy the separation between who I am and the character. This Summer I’ve partnered with someone who I came up in the business with, her name is Alexa Bliss and she has been able to humanise my character in a way that I never thought was possible.

“So I went from being like the number one hated female in the wrestling industry just like four months ago, to like ‘oh she’s not so bad’… I felt like Charlotte always had to be perfect because of the pressure of being Ric’s kid, being the 14-time Women’s Champion, always in the title picture. It was exhausting.”
