Charlotte Flair ‘Hated’ WWE WrestleMania Championship Match

Charlotte Flair ‘Hated’ WWE WrestleMania Championship Match WWE

Charlotte Flair has revealed she ‘hated’ a WrestleMania Championship match that brought together two Women’s Championships.

Flair returned at the 2025 Royal Rumble and would head to WrestleMania 41 to face Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship.

Although there were apparent tensions going into the match, Stratton has opened up about Charlotte Flair’s reaction after the April event.

Flair has now revealed that she was less than happy with her WrestleMania 35 main event match back in April 2019.

The match saw Charlotte Flair defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Becky Lynch in a Winner Takes All match.

During a recent appearance on Games with Names, Flair reflected on the match, sharing her dislike for it, saying:

“I hated our ‘Mania (35) match. She (Ronda Rousey) liked it, I hated it… The ending.

“It’s all about the story. The match… But the story. The story was insane.”

The match would see Becky Lynch take both titles, delivering Rousey’s first pinfall loss in WWE on the final one-night WrestleMania to date.

Rousey has since addressed the finish of the match, criticizing how the encounter was put together.

Lynch would hold the Raw Women’s Championship (now the WWE Women’s Championship) until April 16, 2020, forfeiting it due to pregnancy, with Asuka being crowned champion.

Flair would claim the SmackDown Women’s Championship (now the Women’s World Championship) at Money in the Bank on May 19, 2019, only to lose it to Bayley, who cashed in having won the ladder match earlier in the evening.
