Charlotte Flair Opens Up About Andrade Leaving WWE

Raw Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair has opened up about her fiancé, Andrade El Idolo, requesting his WWE release earlier this year.

In march, it was confirmed that Andrade had been let go by WWE. Speaking on Oral Sessions, Flair recalled Triplemania XXIX, noting that Ric Flair originally wanted his suit to match Andrade’s for the appearance.

Explaining that she advised Andrade to spread his wings, Flair said:

“When Manny (Andrade) asked me back in March, he felt deflated from not being on TV and what was happening, ‘What should I do? Tell me.’ I was like, ‘I can’t tell you what to do and I can’t beg you to stay even though our life is together on the road because you’ll resent me. You need to spread your wings and do what you need to do. If you want to come back, I’ll always be here and I’ll always support you.’

“It was the best thing for him. My dad said yes to coming to Mexico…he wasn’t able to get his white suit made in time, but let me tell you a little story; My dad met me in Pittsburgh to fly to Mexico, but all of his flights were delayed to get from Atlanta to Pittsburgh. He rented a jet just to get to Pittsburgh. That’s how much it meant to be by Manny in AAA. It was amazing.”

It was recently reported that Andrade has been vocal about wanting his entire family, including Charlotte and Ric Flair, to join him in AEW.

Ric Flair was released by WWE at the beginning of August. It has been speculated that he will appear for AEW in the future, as he’s friends with AEW President Tony Khan.
