14-time world champion Charlotte Flair has explained why she feels her tag team with Alexa Bliss has worked so well in WWE.
Both accomplished singles stars in WWE for over a decade, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss started up an odd couple tag team pairing in June 2025, with the pair quickly rising to the top of the women’s tag team division and becoming (reluctant) friends along the way.
Given their individual success in the past, fans expected the pair to go their separate ways a long time ago, but we’ve now arrived at WrestleMania 42 and Bliss and Flair are still together and set to compete for the Women’s Tag Team Championships at “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”
During an appearance on Casuals with Katie Nolan, Flair cited the mutual trust and respect herself and Bliss have for each other as a reason why the team works so well.
Flair said:
“I’ve been a solo act for so long and she is a standalone character herself, so Alexa Bliss doesn’t need Charlotte Flair and Charlotte Flair doesn’t need Alexa Bliss, but together it’s just money. So that’s been fun.
“I also think on a personal level, knowing each other’s careers, not that we’ve been best friends for 10 years because we haven’t, but there was so much respect there for each other that that helps I think when making the best thing possible.
“I don’t have a moment when I think oh man she’s going to do something like undercut me. You have to trust the person that you’re sharing this with, and I trust her. It’s hard to have that in any industry where you’re competing and you’re trying to win the fans other, your boss.
“But with her there’s always going to be competition, you always want to be the best, but it’s like we’re making magic together versus it being just solo. Like we’re both shining in whatever we’re doing together.”

Keeping Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss Together The Right Decision
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss were originally only supposed to be together for a short run and potentially even have a match against each other at WWE SummerSlam 2025.
However, the company made the right call in keeping them together beyond that, as it’s really kept the tag division heated up with two big names without lowering their individual stocks or popularity in the process.
Also, as Flair has noted many times, it’s brought out a side of her that we haven’t seen previously which has built up some new goodwill with fans, which is only going to make it a bigger deal if she or Bliss do turn on each other in the future.
WWE can often be criticized for keeping teams together for too long before breaking them up, but in this instance it’s been the right decision.
