Charlotte Flair won the Women’s Royal Rumble. Once Flair won, rumors began swirling about who she would face at WrestleMania.
It didn’t take long to see where WWE was headed. WWE has been teasing Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley for weeks.
Originally, Rhea Ripley showed up on Raw and begged for Flair to challenge her. Flair didn’t engage.

Flair then showed up on NXT and reminded Ripley that she might not even be the champion after NXT TakeOver: Portland.
Well, tonight on NXT TakeOver: Portland, Ripley faced Bianca Belair. The match was really building to a classic when Ripley hit the Riptide for the win.
Ripley retained her title, but before she could even celebrate, Charlotte Flair attacked Ripley from behind. Flair took the champion out and then declared that she was making it official.

Charlotte has officially challenged Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship at WrestleMania. It is been all but confirmed that the championship match will be on the actual WrestleMania card and not TakeOver.
Ripley and Flair have the potential to put on a fantastic match and seems to be a high priority than even the SmackDown Women’s Championship program.
Only time will tell if it will have positive effects on NXT ratings as Vince McMahon hopes.
