Charlotte’s latest title win means she has held a Women’s Championship in WWE eight times, the most of any woman in the company’s history. This is something that WWE commentary will likely be dropping into every other sentence as the women are set to main event WrestleMania for the first time in history.
It remains to be seen if Charlotte will be expected to defend her newly won Smackdown Women’s Championship against Asuka at WrestleMania as well as wrestle in the main event against Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey. Some have suggested that WWE could add Asuka to the main event and make it a fatal four way for both titles.
Regardless of the route WWE go down, this is the most exciting the women’s champion scene on Smackdown has felt in a long while, and it will make the final three shows before WrestleMania must-see.
