Chelsea Green Addresses Fan Art Controversy

Chelsea Green Addresses Fan Art Controversy

UPDATE: In another development, Chelsea Green has now posted the art and tagged the original creator, as you can see at the bottom of this page.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Former WWE star Chelsea Green has taken to social media with a statement following the fan art controversy we covered on the site earlier.

Twitter user @Salsaboiii had messaged Green to ask her for credit as she had used his art, but instead she deleted it and later blocked him.

This led to a lot of fan backlash and many were disappointed with how the situation was handled going by the screenshots of their DM exchange posted by Salsaboiii.

However, Salsaboiii did follow up with a few more tweets criticising Green, and it appears this is what mainly influenced her decision.

Addressing the situation, Green writes:

It’s super unfortunate how this has been handled. I think artists deserve credit. Period.

After reading some of the nasty tweets, I didn’t feel reposting the art was something that I should do as clearly the artist’s view of me had soured.

I support my artists. I pay my artists. I have been doing that since I started on the independent scene because I myself was a starving artist & I know the struggle.

It’s really sad that an oversight on my part has led to this, but I wish the artist luck and I think it’s best that I stick to the artists who I have used in the past and who know the person I am.

The majority of the replies are still not on her side after reading the above statement.

Chelsea Green was released by WWE on April 15 and a likely destination for her future appears to be IMPACT Wrestling.
