A WWE star has addressed their recent attack on a current champion, and how the fans led to their recent change.
Ricky Saints turned heel on NXT television back in December, when he cost Je’von Evans his shot at the NXT Championship against Oba Femi.
Saints looked to capture the vacant NXT Championship on last week’s episode of NXT in a Ladder match, with Joe Hendry ultimately winning the match to win the championship.
On last night’s show, Ricky jumped Hendry following his defence against Jackson Drake, and Ricky has now addressed the fans following the attack.
In a promo shared to social media, Ricky explained that the fans kept choosing wrong, and that now he is looking for what they can do for him instead.
He said:
“What more can I do for you? In y’all’s search for some beloved saviour, I’ve given you warning after warning, and still you choose wrong every single time. I warned you about Oba and I warned you about Joe, and look what happened.
“I feel like at this point, y’all are destined to keep choosing wrong. That’s kind of the funny thing about me, I carry a burden that nobody could really understand. To understand Ricky Saints, to really understand me, takes a very, very special person.
“But to be a normal person and try to understand me, that’s probably the hardest thing you’ll do in your life, but that’s the burden for me to bear.
“So now I’m left to think, it’s not about what I can do for you, but what the hell can you do for me? Every single person that you put your cart behind, I can dogwalk them. I outrun them, I outpace them, that’s the kind of guy I am, 14 years strong, ain’t nobody doing it like me, there will always be a stark contrast.
“Put them next to me and I’ll prove it. I’ve done it time after time after time, and you’ve chosen wrong time after time after time. But now, you need me.”
