Chris Benoit Viceland Documentary Confirmed

Chris Benoit Viceland Documentary Confirmed

It has been confirmed that Viceland will be releasing a Chris Benoit documentary titled “Dark Side Of The Ring”, with interviews from several people who were closest to Benoit and his family prior to their deaths.

Benoit is one of the most infamous wrestlers in history, having murdered his wife and son in June 2007 before hanging himself.

Research has indicated that several concussions, brain damage and depression may well have been contributing factors in the crimes he committed.

As reported by the Wrestling Observer, it has been confirmed that the documentary will include interviews with:

Sandra Toffoloni (the sister of Nancy Benoit who knows the case better than anyone), Chris Jericho (who has studied the case harder than any pro wrestler because he considered Chris Benoit his best friend in wrestling at one time), Chavo Guerrero Jr. (Who Benoit was close with, often travelled with, and who Benoit texted that weekend), Michael (Chris’ father) and David (Chris’ son from a first marriage) Benoit.

WWE has banned mention of Chris Benoit since it was revealed that he was behind the deaths, and this will be one of the first in-depth looks at what is one of the most harrowing events in wrestling history.

Viceland will also be releasing a Dino Bravo documentary within the same 10 part series.

Bravo, who wrestler for the WWF between 1985 and 1992, was murdered in his own home in 1993. It was alleged that his role in illegal cigarette smuggling in Canada may have been behind the murder, which remains unsolved.

Pieces on the Brawl for all and Jimmy Snuka also seem likely.
