If you’ve been one the 690 thousand or so fans watching AEW: Dynamite, then you’ve heard Chris Jericho on commentary alongside Tony Schiavone. Jericho has received rave reviews for his commentary especially during the no audience era of tapings.
Jericho spoke to Newsweek about doing commentary and if plans on continuing it. He had this to say:
“As fun as it is to commentate, that’s maybe something I’ll do more in the future, but I think it’s time to kind of take control again, outside of the commentary booth.”

It was announced last night on AEW: Dynamite that Jericho will be returning to in-ring action next week. What does the former AEW: Champion think about returning to the ring and giving up commentary?
“I’m the leader of the Inner Circle, and I’m Le Champion. I think that was a great kind of stopgap measure to keep the star power on the show because we had a smaller crew for those four weeks that will plug up the gaps and I can kind of be one of the focuses of the show without being the focus of the show if that makes sense.”
AEW is building towards the May 23, 2020 Double or Nothing Show. We don’t know who Jericho will be facing at this point, but it would seem a matchup with Matt Hardy could be on the horizon.
