Chris Jericho: ‘I Once Got A WCW Royalty Cheque For $0.00’

Chris Jericho was not a top draw during his time in WCW but he had his fans. This is why when he saw he was getting a royalty cheque from WCW for $0.00 he may have been a bit deterred.

On Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder’s Major Wrestling Figure Podcast, Jericho revealed that when people bought his action figure in WCW, Hulk Hogan and Sting got the money. Here is the full quote, courtesy of Fightful:

“When I was in WCW, that was my first action figure. The first one was a set with Dean Malenko. My girlfriend at the time found one and bought it at WalMart or wherever. On the receipt, it didn’t say Malenko-Jericho, it said Hogan-Sting. That’s when I realized every single action figure sold at that time, maybe not across the world, but in that store, was attributed to Hogan. I was told that’s impossible, but I have the receipt,”

Jericho also chimed in saying WCW sent him a Fed-Ex with an empty cheque.

“I got a royalty cheque from WCW once for zero dollars and zero cents. In a Fed-Ex!”

To just put WCW’s incompetence in perspective for a moment, sending a Fed-Ex from Atlanta to Calgary would have cost them a small chunk of change. And essentially nothing was inside it. I wonder why the company died.
