Now that Cody and the Young Bucks have finally announced that their new wrestling promotion, All Elite Wrestling is going forward, it’s time to think about who could be joining their ranks. The first name on that list could well be Chris Jericho.
We know that Adam ‘Hangman’ Page is one name that has already put pen to paper along with Cody’s wife Brandi, but as for everyone else, we simply don’t know.
One name that has apparently had “in-depth” conversations about signing however is Chris Jericho, as he looks to continue his quest to wrestle for everyone that would piss Vince McMahon off.
Several reports suggest that Jericho is not the only person that AEW has spoken to either, with Rajah reporting that their source understands that Goldberg has also been in contact with AEW with the intention of “mixing in legends” into the roster.
Rajah also reports that owner and financial backer of AEW Tony Khan, who is also the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, is using his connections to pursue a deal with “Time Warner to have AEW air on TNT/TBS.”
This is of course all speculation and should therefore be taken with a pinch of salt, but given how closely Jericho is with Cody and the Bucks, recently appearing on Being the Elite, it’s hard to see how he wouldn’t factor into their plans in some way.
Furthermore, Jericho is set to face Tetsuya Naito in an IWGP Intercontinental Title match at Friday’s (January 4) Wrestle Kingdom 13 show, so dropping the belt would allow him to focus on new projects.
