Chris Jericho Sends Message To CM Punk Following In-Ring WWE Return AEW, WWE

AEW star Chris Jericho has sent a message to CM Punk following his in-ring WWE return at Madison Square Garden on December 26.

Punk’s long-awaited return to a WWE ring may not have been televised worldwide to the masses, but we did get to see plenty footage of the surreal moment on social media.

While footage of the actual match with Dominik Mysterio has been shared by fans in attendance in New York, a clip of Punk’s rapturous entrance was captured by WWE’s official Instagram page for everyone to witness; including one of his former peers in AEW Chris Jericho.

Commenting on WWE’s post, which captured Punk doing his signature ‘It’s Clobberin Time’ taunt on the ramp, Jericho would respond.

And curiously, despite the recent Christmas Day back-and-forth between Jericho and Punk’s lawyer Stephen P. New on Twitter, Jericho’s response would be one of the first to send a message of support to Punk.

Jericho posted:

Congrats! 🔥🔥🔥

After news broke regarding the length of the Non-Disclosure Agreements signed by Ace Steel and CM Punk surrounding the events after AEW All Out 2022, there were also reports that the ‘only’ person who saw all of the events but wasn’t subject to an NDA was Ace Steel’s wife, Lucy.

This led to a response from Jericho, who confirmed that he had also not signed an NDA, and following a response from New, would see Y2J tell him to “shut his mark ass up.”

This was due to New not being present during the actual backstage situation at All Out; unlike Jericho, who was.

While Punk did not get involved in the social media exchange, it was somewhat surprising to some fans that Jericho would be among the first to pop up to congratulate his former colleague.

Perhaps especially so when considering Punk’s comments regarding the inaugural AEW World Champion in the past, including his infamous Instagram story post in March in which Punk labelled Jericho a “liar” and a “stooge.”

Despite this Jericho did recently confirm that he wished he could have had a match with Punk whilst he was a part of AEW.
