This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was the second most watched in the show’s history, with an average of 1.319 million people tuning in to watch Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson and Ruby Soho make their Dynamite debuts.
The show also scored a 0.52 in the key 18-49 demographic, with 681,000 people from within that demographic tuning in to watch the show. WWE Raw this week had a higher viewership than AEW, but within the key demo, AEW just sneaked the win, with 678,000 18-49 year olds tuning in for Raw.
To no-one’s surprise, former AEW Champion Chris Jericho shared his thoughts on the result, claiming the game had changed.
I told you on Sunday night that the game has changed! @AEW https://t.co/2bD5eElUGL

He had previously suggested AEW could beat Raw within 4-6 months, but has now revised that prediction to 4-6 days.
I was wrong, it didn’t take 4-6 months. It took 4-6 days…. https://t.co/cYkBODUrji

For those wondering why the 18-49 demographic is so important, the reason is that it’s the demographic with brings in the most money to the product.
As Jim Ross puts it:
“That’s what the advertisers are buying. They’re not looking at the total audience, they’re not looking at 50+ [demographic] unless you’re selling Geritol or something. The 18-49 [demographic] is the money. That’s where you’re shopping.”
