Chris Jericho has reiterated that Matt Hardy did not suffer a concussion following his scary fall to the concrete during All Out last weekend.
The back of Hardy’s head smacked against the concrete after he and Sammy Guevara overshot a fall through tables from about 10-15ft in the air on a forklift.
The match was stopped, but then resumed and they went straight to the finish, after which Hardy was taken to hospital.
Tony Khan has since tweeted that Hardy didn’t suffer a concussion upon being released from the hospital, and Hardy himself appeared on Dynamite this past Wednesday and said he’s expected to make a full recovery.
Hardy’s wife Reby tweeted that he had “1000%” suffered a concussion, so some fans are finding it hard to believe what Khan said. Chris Jericho had his say on the incident during his latest live stream, saying:
“[I was] scared at first, waiting to see if [Matt was] okay, if they were okay. Obviously a stunt gone wrong. I just feel whenever you’re falling from that high, we should have some more tables out there and some pads on the floor but guys are brave, and thankfully, Matt was not hurt, no matter what you hear. He did not have a concussion. He was hurt. He banged his head. But, you know, the match ended very quickly after that and, you know, no one really knows what was going on in that. Thankfully, Matt wasn’t hurt and he was on the show this week and I’m sure he’ll be on the show next week, and for many weeks to come. So I’m glad we did not have anything bad happen there.”
